The 33rd edition of the Annual African Public Relations Association (APRA) Conference will be hosted in Dar es Salaam, the largest and business capital city of Tanzania from May 23rd – 27th, 2022.
Aptly tagged APRA Tanzania 2022, the conference will continue the
association’s longstanding quest to change Africa’s narrative by further defining strategies for driving such change. The conference will consist of plenary sessions, and trending case studies. It is designed to better equip the modern practitioner to face current challenges and adapt successfully.
Notably, APRA Tanzania 2022 will also feature the fifth edition of SABRE Awards Africa for Excellence showcasing the best in public relations work from across the continent and host the 3rd edition of IN2 Summit in partnership with the renowned Holmes Report.
The conference will play host to professionals from various sectors of the communications industry including public relations, marketing, advertising, branding, media and government.
APRA Tanzania 2022 promises to be uniquely different: a perfect blend of business and pleasure as delegates will experience Tanzania’s rich cultural and tourist attractions. According to Loth Makuza, President of Public Relations Society of Tanzania, “We are very excited to finally host the 2022 conference after trying a couple of times but due to
covid-19 pandemic, we couldn’t. Our President has been informed about this event and Tanzania is ready to welcome professional colleagues across Africa on the soil of Tanzania.
The President of APRA, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya of Nigeria, stated that COVID-19 stopped us from having a physical gathering but thanks to technology, we had a fantastic virtual conference in 2021 regardless. Now that the air space is open, we are happy to have a physical conference. He however encouraged everyone to get vaccinated and continue to observe all covid-19 protocols in order to reduce the spread of the virus.
On her part, APRA Secretary-General, Jane Gitau of Kenya urged practitioners to attend the conference as “judging from on-going plans, APRA Tanzania 2022 will significantly aid in the sharpening of key skills and building of strong professional networks”. Registration for
the conference is now open and she invites all potential delegates to start the process of their participation.
The conference registration fee is 950USD
