The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogunmakin Command, has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Professor Francis Igbasan, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration and enhance community safety initiatives.
The visiting delegation was led by the Unit Commander, ACC PD Gogomi, accompanied by the Unit Head of Operations, OA Adeleye; the Clinic Head, CT Folarin; and ACI Israel Abiolú, one of the newly posted medical personnel to the command. Also present was the Head of the Special Marshal Unit of McPherson University, Dr. Paul Ojo.
In his remarks, ACC Gogomi explained that the visit was in line with the directive of the Corps Marshal encouraging FRSC commands to seek support from host communities toward equipping the Sheu Mohammed RTC Clinic in Ogunmakin. He noted that the newly deployed medical personnel were part of ongoing efforts to commence full medical operations in the command.
The Unit Commander stressed the need for essential medical equipment to ensure a smooth take-off of operations at the clinic. He presented a formal request letter to the Vice-Chancellor detailing the specific items required for the efficient functioning of the facility.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, commended the FRSC team for their dedication to promoting road safety and improving emergency response systems across surrounding communities. He acknowledged the long-standing partnership between the Corps and McPherson University.
Professor Igbasan assured the delegation of the University’s continued support, promising to review the request and assist in providing the needed medical equipment. He emphasized McPherson University’s commitment to contributing to initiatives that enhance community well-being and public safety.
In his appreciation remarks, the Unit Head of Operations, OA Adeleye, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception and the assurances given. He noted that the Corps remains committed to partnering with the university, particularly in traffic management and other areas within its operational mandate.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both institutions to strengthen collaboration for mutual benefit, especially in promoting safety, enhancing community health support, and improving operational synergy between McPherson University and the FRSC Ogunmakin Command.
