…over 400 people receive free medical care

As part of its commitment to driving sustainable living and its corporate social responsibility to host communities, Unilever Nigeria, the longest-serving manufacturing company in the country recently organised a community medical outreach in Agbara community.

The outreach which commenced as early as 9.00 am at Salvation Army Primary School, Agbara, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, witnessed an impressive turnout of over 400 residents receiving free medical care ranging from wellness checks, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions, screening of blood sugar, blood pressure, eye tests and free recommended glasses among others. 

Speaking during the programme, the Manufacturing Director, Unilever Nigeria, Abayomi Alli explained that the initiative was conceived with the aim of bringing healthcare closer to residents of the community while also improving their well-being. He thanked the community leaders and the traditional ruler for their roles and support in making the outreach a success.

“We want to sincerely appreciate our traditional ruler, His Royal Highness, Oba (Barr.) Lukman Jaiyeola Agunbiade and the good people of the community for their immense support and hospitality over the years. They have been a wonderful host and pillar to the growth of our business here in Nigeria,” Alli said.

In his remarks, the Alagbara of Agbara Kingdom (Olute III), His Royal Highness, Oba (Barr.) Lukman Jaiyeola Agunbiade expressed profound appreciation to the management of Unilever Nigeria for this noble intervention which would go a long way to impacting the community positively.
