On the 25th anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the United States reaffirms its unwavering commitment to preventing and responding to all forms of gender-based violence.

The U.S. government is actively working to address this global crisis through its Safe from the Start ReVisioned initiative. This initiative prioritizes improving and expanding gender-based violence prevention, risk mitigation, and response efforts in emergencies. In Fiscal Year 2024, the U.S. government allocated over $273 million to support these critical efforts.

The United States believes that ending gender-based violence is essential for creating a more just and equitable world. We will continue to collaborate with partner governments, civil society organizations, and survivors to achieve this goal.
