Air Peace has informed the flying public that its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick service of 13 May 2026 experienced an operational disruption arising from enroute access issues involving the airspace authorities of an African country.
The airline disclosed that following the development and the need for immediate operational clarification with the relevant authorities, the aircraft safely returned to Lagos in line with established international aviation procedures and safety protocols.
As a result, the London Gatwick service was subsequently rescheduled while efforts were made to resolve the matter. Air Peace stated that affected passengers were promptly informed about the situation and provided with necessary support, including communication updates, care arrangements, and other assistance to minimise inconvenience.
The airline emphasised that the decision to return the aircraft to Lagos was taken strictly in the interest of passenger safety, operational integrity, and full regulatory compliance.
Air Peace also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers, noting that the disruption was unforeseen and beyond the airline’s control.
