| The second day of the Africa Forward Summit has commenced in Nairobi, marking a significant shift in Africa–France relations towards a more equal and innovative partnership. Co-chaired by H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic of France, the day brings together Heads of state and government in an unprecedented format and level of participation. | The morning session will feature two high-level plenary engagements by the Heads of State and Government on Green Industrialization and Energy Transition, and Peace and Security. The Summit will also feature a working lunch with forty African and French top business leaders, alongside multilateral, regional, national and private financing institutions. The working lunch will focus on the reform of the international financial architecture. Its objective is to coordinate and identify concrete strategies aimed at strengthening the financing of sustainable growth, by mobilizing both domestic and international private capital and improving coordination across all levels of the development finance architecture. The day’s activities will also include four parallel thematic roundtables: blue economy, sustainable agriculture, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, and Resilient health systems. Each of these themes will be addressed in an inclusive format designed to foster dynamic discussions, bringing together policymakers, international organizations, and representatives from the private sector and civil society. |
