Former students of Baptist High School (BHS), Okeho, Class of ’96, gathered on Saturday, 27th June 2026, at City International Hotel, Okeho, to celebrate their 30-year reunion in an atmosphere filled with joy, nostalgia, gratitude, and renewed friendship.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Reunion Planning Committee, Pastor Alaba Abraham, described the reunion as more than a social gathering.
“This gathering is not just about eating rice and taking pictures. It is an opportunity for us to reconnect, strengthen old bonds, and celebrate God’s goodness over the lives of every member of this class,” he said.
Pastor Abraham noted that the Class of ’96 has produced distinguished professionals who have made meaningful contributions to society in various fields. According to him, members of the class include medical doctors, engineers, clergymen, business owners, journalists, teachers, politicians, and many other accomplished professionals.
One of the major highlights of the reunion was the presentation of Awards of Honour and Appreciation to three former teachers who played significant roles in shaping the lives of the students during their years at Baptist High School. The award recipients were:

Dr. Moroti Awolere
The awardees were celebrated for their dedication, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the academic and moral development of generations of students.
As part of the class’s commitment to giving back to their alma mater, members of the Class of ’96 donated copies of 60-leaf exercise books to the school to support teaching and learning. The association also announced and commenced plans for the renovation of two classrooms within the school premises, demonstrating its commitment to improving educational facilities for current and future students.
Also present at the event was the Principal of Baptist High School, Mrs. Ayorinde, who expressed profound appreciation to the Class of ’96 for its generous gesture toward the school. She commended the set for remembering their alma mater and investing in its development.
Mrs. Ayorinde further called on other graduating sets of the school to emulate the example of the 1996 class by contributing to the growth and advancement of Baptist High School, Okeho.
Speaking on behalf of the Baptist High School Old Students Association (BHSOSA), the National President, Revd. Dr. Paul Olawumi, highlighted several interventions and developmental projects undertaken by the association in support of the school over the years.
He stressed the importance of collaboration among various sets of alumni and encouraged the Class of ’96 to work closely with the national body in promoting the welfare and progress of the institution.
According to him, sustained cooperation between alumni groups and the national association would help address critical needs of the school and preserve its legacy of academic excellence and moral discipline.
The reunion also featured networking sessions, goodwill messages, entertainment, and moments of reflection as classmates shared fond memories from their years at Baptist High School, Okeho.
The event concluded with renewed commitments by members to strengthen their bonds of friendship, support one another, and continue making meaningful contributions to their alma mater and the larger Okeho community.
The 30-Year Reunion of the Baptist High School Okeho Class of ’96 was widely regarded as a memorable celebration of friendship, achievement, service, and gratitude to God for three decades of success and impact since leaving the school.
