In a heartfelt gesture to mark her 40th birthday, Temitope Oladipo, a broadcast journalist in Ibadan, chose to celebrate not with fanfare but with a charitable visit to an orphanage home in Ibadan.
Oladipo spent the day at Living Word Mission, located at Sharp Corner, Oke Ado, where she donated essential items to the children as an expression of love and solidarity. The items included a bag of rice, vegetable oil, spaghetti, clothing, noodles, seasonings, and stationery supplies.
Speaking during the visit, Oladipo emphasised the importance of giving back to the less privileged, a responsibility she believes is shared by all who have been blessed with resources, no matter how modest.
“Giving is not about how much we have, but the heart behind it,” she said. “Every act of kindness counts, and I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to share love with these children.”
The journalist also expressed her gratitude to friends and well-wishers who contributed to the donation, which made the outreach possible.
The children and staff at the orphanage received the gifts with joy, offering prayers and words of appreciation for the celebrant who chose to mark a personal milestone by remembering those in need.
Oladipo concluded by thanking God for His faithfulness over the past four decades and reaffirmed her commitment to using her platform and resources to support vulnerable communities.
