Just as the first lady wished her husband happy birthday as a General, then, referring to him as a general as well in this context gave me assurance that I’m yet to negate the law, rather have I committed an offence which is tantamount to hate speech. Therefore, as a concerned Nigerian, I as well wished General Muhammadu Buhari a very happy birthday.

As today marks President Muhammadu Buhari’s birthday, wishes and commendations seem to troop in from everyone around the world for his humble self as well as his administration.
Questions have been raised if the president is truly happy on the inside as he is a year older? If he is, is his wife Aisha Buhari also happy as her husband adds another year? Are the children happy as their father adds a new year? All these questions can only be answered by the appropriate quarters, however, are Nigerians truly happy wishing the president a happy birthday with their numerous wishes?

Without mincing words, many may be happy, while few will be sad, or it could be the other way round. How do we appreciate an individual who gave us nothing but fainting promises? How do we appreciate the one who also fulfilled his promises as expected?. Whichever way, we all know the necessary qualifications for the two personalities examplified.

As Nigeria’s number one citizen celebrates his birthday, is he truly happy with the conditions of our dear nation? Yes or No, we grew up to knowing that a leader is expected to enhance the living and working conditions of his followers. Are the followers happy?

We cannot but wish President Buhari long live, even though it is being said that he is getting nearer to his grave, but will his death bring Nigerians happiness?

May the President live long and overcome all his enemies, and may Nigerians overcome their enemies as well.
