…Naira Appreciated by 16.88% to N794.89/(USD)
The Nigerian Equities Market marginally extended the previous day’s positive outing to close the last trading session of the week in the green region. The benchmark NGXASI gained 25bps to close at 71,230.58 points from 71,052.85 points in the previous session.
The gains in today’s market were majorly attributed to price appreciation in mid to high cap stocks like Guaranty Trust Holding Company (+0.13%), Zenith Bank (+3.58%), FBNH (+5.26%), Access Corporation (+0.58%), Fidelity Bank (+1.12%), Transcorp (+4.54%) and 28 other stocks which kept the All-Share-Index in the positive terrain.
Consequently, the year-to-date returns surged to 38.98%, followed by a 0.25% increase in market capitalization to close at ₦39.17 trillion as investors’ wealth increased by N97.69 billion.
Market activity for the day was positive as volume and value traded increased by 3.38% and 24.07% to reach 582.77 million units, and N4.27 trillion, respectively.
We expect the market to trade mixed in the coming week.

The Nigerian Naira appreciated by 16.88% against the US Dollar in the NAFEM Window, closing at a rate of N794.89/USD.
