Come Saturday, 16 April 2022, Nigeria’s leading corporate experience designers, Q21 Solutions, will host the maiden edition of Alté Culture Festival at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The activity-packed event will feature several headlines and supporting acts that will set the stage ablaze with electrifying live performances such as WurlD, Falana, Wavy The Creator, etc.
Alté, which was reportedly coined by the music group, DRB LasGidi from the word ‘alternative’, is a way of life that champions individualism and non-traditional modes of self-expression. It is a phenomenon that emerged around 2007 and is prevalent with young people— synonymous with the rise in internet usage— and has only recently begun to enter the mainstream media. With music and fashion at its core, Alté’s individualism is slowly empowering more young people in different practices to buck the traditions.
Leaning on this history, Alté Culture Festival was established to epitomize and bring together like minds to appreciate and celebrate the Alte Culture.
The Alté Culture festival promises to be a celebration of the thriving movement within the Nigerian creative industry, from fashion to music to arts and photography. It is also a platform for small and medium-scale creative businesses to showcase their works to an audience of over one thousand people to interact with.
The event is hosted in partnership with DSTV, Star Radler, Trace and Tiger Beer; and is supported by media partners: Clout Africa, Culture Custodian, Enjoy NG, Femme Africa, FOMO Lagos, Lost In Lagos, Lagos Weekender, Pulse and Red Edit Magazine.
