The Management of KolaDaisi University, Ibadan has said arrangement is being made to give virtual lectures to its students during the COVID-19 lockdown.
This was said on Friday in a statement signed by the institution’s Registrar & Secretary to Council, Mrs Omotayo Ikotun.
The statement partly read, “This is to inform our esteemed parents/guardians, members of staff and students of the Kola Daisi University, Ibadan, that following the review of the current situation of the above and the fact of the information as released by both the international and national health bodies clearly indicating that the community-spread of the virus is just about at its peak, while the curve is being expected to slide in the next two weeks.
“The management has therefore decided that the safety of staff and students remains top priority.
“Students are to remain at home as directed by the federal govt.
“Many of our members of staff reside in states which are currently on lockdown or are experiencing curtailed movements and therefore cannot travel.”
The institution said the prevailing conditions necessitated that it would extend its break until there was an improvement in the COVID-19 situation.
“Management solicits for the understanding &cooperation of all stakeholders and to plead that we all remain calm as well as abide by all laid down health-related directives (regular washing of hands, the use of alcohol-based sanitizers and social distancing)
“It’s our prayer that this siege will blow over and very soon too, so that normal daily activities would commence without hindrances.
“Finally let us all please remain home, hygienic and safe, ” the statement further said.
