The Ellen Olusola Caulcrick Foundation (EOCF) has announced the upcoming 2025 Unified Sports Event, set to hold on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Igbobi College Sports Facility, Lagos. The announcement was made during a press conference on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, unveiling the Foundation’s continued commitment to fostering inclusion through sports and education.
The EOCF Unified Sports Initiative is a flagship program that brings together students with and without disabilities to compete side-by-side in fun and friendly sporting activities such as football, basketball, races, tug-of-war, egg races, and a dance competition. Beyond the excitement, the event serves a deeper purpose, promoting understanding, empathy, and social cohesion among young people, while driving a positive shift in public perception of persons with disabilities.
This year’s Unified Sports event will welcome students and coaches from over 30 schools across Lagos State, alongside parents, partners, and members of the press. All participants will receive medals, team t-shirts, gifts, and refreshments, with transport stipends provided for participating schools.
The Foundation aims to use the event to inspire lasting change in social perception and policy support for individuals with disabilities in Nigeria.
Speaking at the announcement, Mr. Segun Caulcrick, Executive Director, EOCF stated: “This initiative reflects our founder’s lifelong commitment to inclusion, leveraging the unifying power of sports to demonstrate that teamwork, empathy, and shared purpose transcend physical ability. We aim to promote a culture where inclusion is not an act of charity but a collective value, and where every participant is recognized and celebrated for their contribution to society.”
