The Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari has written a letter to the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, following the yearnings of people of Oke Ogun and Oyo North Senatorial District.
The letter titled “Reconstruction of Oyo-Iseyin and Igbeti-Ilorin Roads” requests urgent action on Iseyin-Oyo roads and Igbeti- Ilorin roads.
Its worth knowing that commutters have been complaining the bad conditions of the two Federal roads in the Oyo North senatorial district and the Moniya-Iseyin road which is a state government road.
Apart from the terrible state of the road linking Igbeti to Ilorin, Kwara state capital, a major bridge on that route has collapsed making it difficult for motorists to move freely.
Buhari in his letter said: “The two bridges on the roads linking the entire Oke Ogun axis had broken down, thus affecting free movement in particular, and the economic activities in general.
“We appeal to you on these roads which house 10LGS in my Senatorial District. They are the only two roads that link the entire Oke Ogun axis to the state. Oyo /Iseyin serves as the west axis, while Igbeti –Ilorin serves as the North Axis.
“The 10 LGS are, Iseyin Itesiwaju, Kajola, Iwajowa, Orelope, Saki West, Saki East, Olorunsogo Irepo, Atisbo”.
