The market extended its bullish run for the fourth straight session, with the NGX All-Share Index rising 75bps to 106,074.26 points on sustained interest in fundamentally strong stocks.
The bullish momentum was upheld by strong interest in leading bellwether stocks, including WAPCO (+10%), MTNN (+5.91%), ZENITHBANK (+0.89%), ACCESSCORP (+0.84%), and GTCO (+0.16%), alongside 39 additional gainers across the board.
As a result, the Year-to-Date (YTD) return increased to 3.06%, while market capitalization expanded by 77 basis points to ₦66.67 trillion, driven by the listing of LEGENDINT, which added ₦508.14 billion to investor wealth.
Sectoral performance skewed positive, with four of the five covered sectors closing in the green. The Insurance (+4.32%) and Consumer Goods (+2.35%) sectors saw notable gains, driven by price increases in NEM, CORNERST, CONHALLPLC, DANGSUGAR,
NASCON, INTBREW, UNILEVER, and HONYFLOUR. Similarly, the Industrial Goods (+1.29%) and Oil & Gas (+0.07%) sectors advanced, supported by strong performances in WAPCO and OANDO.
MARKET ACTIVITY: Market activity declined with trading volume and value down by 55.93% and 43..28% to 328.26 million units to ₦10.37 billion.
MARKET BREADTH: The market breadth, which measures investor sentiment through the Gainers/Losers ratio decreased to 2.93x from 2.00x as 44 stocks appreciated, 15 stocks depreciated and 66 stocks closed flat.
FIXED INCOME MARKET: Average yields on Treasury Bills closed slightly bullish at 20.52% while Bonds market closed flat at 18.60% .
CURRENCY MARKET: The Naira appreciated by 0.03% to close at ₦1,601.82
