Chief Alex Akinleye, Nigeria’s former Minister of Information and Chairman of the Nigerian Sports Commission is dead.
In a statement by one of his sons, Constantine Akinfolarin Akinyele, confirmed that the passed away Thursday night after a brief illness.
The Lobosin of Ondo Kingdom, Akinyele was a trained public relations specialist, a Fellow, former Secretary General and President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. It would be recalled that he was instrumental to the enactment of the Institute’s enabling law in 1990.
