History was made yesterday as the first female Commissioner of Police was appointed by the Inspector-General of Police , IGP, Mr Mohammed Abubakar Adamu for 45– years– old Oyo state in a deployment and redeployment execise carried out at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. The affected Officer is Mrs Ngozi Onadeko who was posted along with no fewer than 18 Commissioners of police to various States Commands and Departments.
The appointment of Onadeko has made her the first female police boss for the state created in February 3rd, 1976 by Nigerian most adorable Leader, late Gen. Muritala Ramat Mohammed who was assisinated 10 days after the creation of Oyo and six other states. Others posted and retained by Adamu are, Mr Adeleke Adeyinka who head Kebbi state command.Mr Ali Ari Mohammed, Ali Janga are in charge of Delta and Sokoto states commands respectively.
Mohammed Ndatsu for Enugu state command. Others are, Sikiru Akande goes to Cross-Rivers , Imo State has Nasir Mohammed;Adamawa State is headed by Aliyu Adamu Alhaji. Force Spokesman, Frank Mba was retained “to accentuate his grammatical acrobatics”. Not left out are CPs deployed to various organs of the Force such as the Police Colleges, Airports, Special Protection Unit(SPU), Force Armament, Counter Terrorism Unit, CTU, Operations department, Boarder Patrol and Peace Keeping.
