The Rotary International, District 9110, on Friday, 15th of May, 2020, donated several medical items and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, to support the current fight against the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19).
While presenting the items to the Management of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), the District Governor, Rotarian Jide Akeredolu, stated that the club raised some money to purchase much needed medical supplies for hospitals across Nigeria, and they chose LASUTH as the first point of call. He expressed his optimism and hope that the items donated will go a long way in safeguarding the health of the frontline medical workers.
Responding to the kind gesture, the Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, a proud Rotary member himself, said that the Rotary International District 9110 is doing what it knows how to do best, by providing items that will protect the health workers while in the forefront of fighting the COVID-19.
He noted that these items are difficult to purchase due to escalating prices, but the CMD is confident that more well meaning Nigerians will help in filling the gap. He prayed that the club will be rewarded adequately for their donation as he promised that the items will be deployed to rational and appropriate use.
Other members of the District in
attendance include Rot. Bola Oyebade, Dr. Oladehinde Shoga, Rot. Anthonia Taiwo, Rot. Adeniran Adekunle, Rot. Ben Okemale, and Rot. Muftau Adelotan.
