    Wakanow Partners with ValueJet to Boost Local Flight Inventory

    Wakanow, Africa’s foremost travel tech company, has today announced an exclusive distribution partnership with ValueJet, a Fly for Value Aviation Company and Nigeria’s newest domestic airline, to host ValueJet’s inventory on their website and increase local flight inventory available to local travelers.

    This partnership is aligned with Wakanow’s aim of delivering access to all local flight inventory in real-time and an all-year-round flight schedule. It also showcases her continuous commitment to the development of the domestic travel industry in Nigeria.

    ValueJet is the latest airline to partner with Wakanow, joining its network and enabling Wakanow-connected customers to find and use bespoke solutions to support their specific travel needs and requirements.

  • Arik Air aircraft makes air return

    Arik Air aircraft makes air return

    An Arik Air aircraft, a Boeing 737-700 NG aircraft operating flight W3 740 from Lagos to Port Harcourt on Wednesday morning made an air return back to Lagos due to oil indication light.

    The aircraft was on its climb when the pilot in command noticed the indication light and as a safety precaution opted to return to airport of departure, Lagos. The Captain contacted the Lagos control tower to intimate the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) of his decision and activated emergency protocols. This is a standard operating procedure and in line with best safety standards.

    The Port Harcourt bound passengers have been provided another aircraft for their journey while our team of engineers are inspecting the Boeing that returned to ramp.

    Arik Air hereby assures its customers that it will not compromise the high safety standards the airline is known for.

    Arik Air resumes services to Asaba

    …Increases frequency to Owerri

    Arik Air has announced the resumption of flight services to Asaba Airport in Delta state. 

    Starting from Wednesday, December 18, 2019, Arik Air will be operating daily flights from Lagos to Asaba.
    The resumption of flights to Asaba is coming at a time when people are looking for seamless travel during the yuletide.

    Arik Air’s return to Asaba is nostalgic as the airline was the first to commence commercial flights to Asaba when the airport was inaugurated in 2011.

    Similarly, Arik Air, in the spirit of the yuletide season, will be increasing its frequency from Lagos to Owerri to thrice daily. The additional flights will operate at 7:00am daily in addition to the 1:00pm and 4:30pm departures. 

    Speaking on the latest development, Arik Air Chief Executive Officer, Captain Roy Ilegbodu said: “The resumption of flights to Asaba is a promise kept as we had assured our esteemed customers that we will be back on the route before the Christmas festivities. 

    “We once again assure our customers of a high operating safety standards and exceptional customer service during the yuletide and beyond.”
