    Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, today announced the expansion of the Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU (coolant distribution units) family with the launch of the Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU 70, Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU 100 and Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU 600 models in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). These direct-to-chip (DTC) liquid cooling solutions enhance Vertiv’s position as a leading innovator and enabler in AI and HPC infrastructure. The Vertiv CoolChip CDU 600 will be showcased for the first time in EMEA at the Vertiv booth at Datacloud Global Congress held this week in Cannes.

    Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU 70 is an in-row, liquid-to-air coolant distribution unit that enables a fast, cost-effective entry into liquid cooling for data centres retrofitting existing environments or deploying new infrastructure. Designed to utilise existing thermal infrastructure, this liquid-to-air CDU is ideal for facilities looking to deploy liquid cooling capacity without requiring major infrastructure changes. The system delivers up to 70 kW of cooling capacity and is designed for agility and scalability, helping to reduce secondary fluid network complexity and infrastructure footprint. Its integrated controller supports real-time monitoring, group control and unit-to-unit communication, for coordinated thermal performance, simplified management, and efficient scaling across multiple racks.

    Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU 100 brings powerful liquid-to-liquid in-rack cooling performance, giving data centres a secure and space-efficient solution for high-density workloads. Ideal for operators to introduce or expand liquid cooling deployments one rack at a time, supporting incremental growth or AI pilot programs without the need for large-scale infrastructure changes. With 100 kW of cooling capacity in a 4U form factor and a large-surface heat exchanger engineered for low approach temperatures, Vertiv CoolChip CDU 100 enables optimal heat transfer. An integrated controller provides monitoring and control capabilities to streamline operations and enhance visibility. Built-in filtration and precise temperature control within ±1°C help maintain fluid quality and thermal stability, while the physical separation of facility and IT loops supports secure, efficient system management in mission-critical environments.


    Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU 600 is an in-row, liquid-to-liquid model delivering robust, scalable liquid cooling capacity for high-density AI and HPC deployments. The 600 kW system is designed to meet the demands of hyperscale and colocation environments, supporting in-row configurations and integrating easily into raised floor or retrofit installations. Its design, including top or bottom piping connections and available internal manifolds, streamlines infrastructure planning and speeds implementation. With redundant pumps, advanced monitoring for temperature and fluid quality, and a flexible approach to deployment, Vertiv CoolChip CDU 600 offers reliability, visibility, and performance for customers scaling liquid cooling across broader IT environments.

    Vertiv™ Liebert® PDX family expands to utilise low-GWP and non-flammable refrigerant in EMEA

     Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, today introduced the new, highly efficient Vertiv™ Liebert® PDX-PAM direct expansion perimeter units with low global warming potential (GWP)  and non-flammable R513A refrigerant. Available now in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), the system is designed to operate with an eco-friendly refrigerant (as compared to legacy refrigerants) to enable increased efficiency, reliability and maximum flexibility of installation.

    Liebert® PDX-PAM allows data centre owners to comply with the EU F-Gas Regulation 2024/573 and enables their pressing sustainability goals. The non-flammable R513A refrigerant provides up to a 70% GWP reduction when compared to the traditional R410A, without compromising safety or reliability. No additional safety devices are required, as is the case for units using flammable refrigerants, enabling reduced installation costs and CAPEX.

    Liebert PDX-PAM is available from 10 kW to 80 kW with a wide range of airflow configurations, options and accessories, making the unit easily adaptable to various installation needs, from small to medium data centres including edge computing applications, UPS and battery rooms. In conjunction with the Liebert PDX-PAM units, a wide choice of cooling solutions is available for managing heat rejection externally, depending on the specific system configuration.

    Vertiv is leading in innovation and raising the technology threshold with Liebert® PDX-PAM, a low-GWP, non-flammable R513A refrigerant solution with inverter-driven brushless motor compressors, staged coil design with an innovative patent-pending filter, electronic expansion valves and state-of-the-art electronically commutated (EC) fans, all included as standard features. The integrated Vertiv™ Liebert® iCOM™ controller enables seamless synchronisation of these components, allowing complete modulation of performance. This way, the Liebert® PDX-PAM unit can adapt to changing operating conditions and heat load efficiently and reliably. The full continuous modulation capability significantly reduces the annual power consumption, resulting in a more cost-effective solution, thanks to the enhanced part load efficiency and precise monitoring of the machine’s operation, facilitating performance tracking and more timely and effective maintenance, thereby creating opportunities for predictive maintenance actions.

According to Omdia, Vertiv is already ranked #1 in the three-phase UPS market globally, capturing 16% of the market.     According to Omdia’s UPS Hardware Market Tracker and Analysis 2022, there’s an increased demand for three-phase UPS in EMEA from markets outside of cloud, colocation, and telco. These include retail, wholesale, healthcare, manufacturing and other industries. By 2026, the three-phase UPS market in EMEA is expected to grow from $1.66B in 2021 to $2.07B, a CAGR of 5.84%.
