The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has felicitated teachers across the state on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, recognising their contributions to the development of education and the future of Ogun State.
In a message to mark the day, Senator Adeola commended Ogun teachers for their dedication to educating and shaping young people despite the demands and challenges associated with the profession.
Adeola explained that teachers remain central to the development of human capital, stressing that their welfare, professional development, and working conditions should continue to receive attention.
He pledged to support initiatives that would improve teachers’ welfare and create an enabling environment for them to perform effectively, noting that strengthening the teaching profession would contribute to better learning outcomes and a stronger education system in the state.
In line with his manifesto, Senator Adeola promised to establish teacher training centres in the 3 senatorial districts to help teachers update their skills.
“Teachers play a critical role in shaping the future of our children and, by extension, the future of Ogun State. Their commitment, patience, and dedication deserve recognition and support. As a government, we will improve teacher welfare by reviewing salaries, providing better working conditions, and ensuring timely payment. On this World Teachers’ Day, I celebrate our teachers and reaffirm my commitment to promoting better welfare, improved working conditions, and opportunities for professional growth,” he said.
