The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO) has officially announced the commencement of admission into 30 accredited undergraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 Academic Session, following successful resource verification by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Successful Accreditation Exercise
The announcement comes after the NUC completed a comprehensive resource verification exercise at the institution on Monday, held on 16 November, 2025. Out of 34 programmes initially presented for accreditation, 30 programmes received full approval, positioning FUNATO to admit its pioneer students across six colleges. Four programmes unapproved programmes include: B.Tech. Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, B.Tech. Biomedical Engineering, B.Tech. Mechatronics Engineering and B.Tech. Food Science and Technology.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, describing it as a significant milestone for the young institution and the agricultural education sector in Nigeria.
