…appreciates Staff Resilience
In a bid to lend a supportive hand to ease the work of frontline medical personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board members of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), recently donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the hospital.
The Chairman of the Board, Dr. Richardson Ajayi, on behalf of the Board, appreciated the effort of the Management and Staff of the hospital for their “valiance and resilience during this pandemic.” He noted the relentless effort of the frontline staff, saying that their professionalism and effort to contain the spread of Covid-19 and the care of affected clients and families has indeed made them heroes.
To the management team, he said that their tireless work of keeping the operations of the hospital going while handling the complexities of leadership during the pandemic does not go unnoticed. He assured them that “the Board will support the implementation of the good policies you have put together to ease the tension and stress of the staff members for maximum efficiency.”
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, in response, expressed deep gratitude to the Board for their words of encouragement and for identifying with the plight of the frontline medical personnel. He assured the Board that the donated items would be disbursed rationally and efficiently for optimal use.
Present at the occassion were Pharm. Familusi, Welfare Committee member of the Board of LASUTH; Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa, Director of Clinical Services and Training; Mr. Ayodele Savage, Acting Director of Hospital Administration & HR; Mrs. Adebola Aina, Assistant Director Nursing Services; Mr. Tayo Lawal, Director Of Finance; Mr. Bamishile, Chairman Joint Health Workers Union JOHESU; Dr. Adebayo, Chairman Medical Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, MDCAN and Mrs. Tarella Oladipupo, Chairman National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, NANNM were all present.
The PPE donated by the Board include protective gowns, surgical face masks, latex gloves and N95 Face Masks.
