A pioneer member and Past President of the International Facility Management Association, Lagos Nigeria Chapter, Mrs. Marion Sheila Johnson, a distinguished Nigerian-British woman and co-founder of Nigeria Cleaning Service Limited. Mrs. Johnson, affectionately known as “MSJ,” peacefully left this world on January 28, 2024.
Born into a legacy of service and entrepreneurship, Marion Sheila Johnson, alongside her late husband, Pa Mosanya Johnson, co-founded Nigeria Cleaning Service Limited in 1958, Nigeria’s foremost cleaning and facility management company. With unwavering dedication and leadership, she played a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of the company, leaving an indelible mark on the cleaning and facility management industry in Nigeria.
Until her demise, Mrs. Johnson served as the overall head of Nigeria Cleaning Service Limited, steering the organization with grace and resilience. In her capacity as the head of the Board of Directors, she oversaw the entire spectrum of the company’s affairs, from financial management to administrative procedures. Her visionary leadership and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in the success and longevity of the company.
Beyond her role at Nigeria Cleaning Service Limited, Mrs. Marion Sheila Johnson was a trailblazing figure in the professional community. She was a pioneering member of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Nigeria chapter, where she made significant contributions to the development of facility management practices in the country. Her dedication and leadership qualities were further recognized as she served as the President of IFMA Nigeria.
In addition to her contributions to the facility management sector, Mrs. Johnson was honored as a Fellow of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria (IoD), a testament to her outstanding contributions to corporate governance and leadership.
