The Africa Region Board of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has announced the delightful achievement of a Nigerian, Tunbosun Afolayan, in bagging the Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP) Certification. She is the first Communication Professional in Nigeria and the whole of West Africa (IABC WAIG), and the sixth in Africa to pass the examinations required for this certification.
Tunbosun Afolayan prides herself as a Sustainability leader and derives joy in leading, developing, and supporting award-winning strategies for leading companies in the Energy (Oil & Gas) Industry, to empower and shape the strategic transformations needed for their continued success in the ever-changing world of business. She also advocates for initiatives that support the noble responsibility to improve Planet, People, and Profit.
Commending Tunbosun Afolayan on this feat, the Interim Chair, Board of Directors for IABC Africa Region, Dr Amanda Hamilton-Attwell, ABC, CPRP, IABC Fellow disclosed that “the SCMP is a globally recognised certification for highly skilled business communicators who provide strategic communication advice and counselling to an organisation’s leadership. Along with the Communication Management Professional (CMP) Certification for generalists and specialists, the SCMP is an ANSI-Accredited Personnel Certification Programme. These two certifications, the SCMP and CMP, allow Business Communicators to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise and provide evidence of their outstanding abilities”.
