Olushola Debo Thomas, one of Nigeria’s creative agri-preneur and investor based in Ogbomoso in Oyo State Nigeria at a media parley held in Ibadan, Oyo State yesterday, unveiled his next investment move which is the construction of a Human Development Eco-System named Valor City. The smart real estate will sit on 2,100 acres already acquired for that purpose and is located in Orire Local Government of Ogbomoso, in Oyo State, Nigeria.

According to the young entrepreneur, Valor City is a 21st-century human capital ecosystem that would have all modern facilities, including residential zones, sports and games, technology hub, business incubation, cinema and films village, skills and vocational training facility. The city is billed to start in 2022.

Debo said “Valor City will be built on three major pillars, a re-imagined education, sports development and tourism. It is my conviction that the current educational system has to be rejigged and be more practical oriented in a way that can solve the plethora of challenges that confront Nigeria. As it is now, the educational system of the country needs to be driven at solving practical problems of the society but quite, unfortunately, the reverse is the case.”

“In the area of sports, Nigeria is blessed with many youths that can excel and become global champions but because the necessary support is not there and no exposure to best practices and standard and right training in different areas of sports but with valor city, we will show the world that something good can come out of here and produce global champions in different areas of sports.  This place when completed, will be a city people will like to travel to, in our plan, there will be world standard cinema, film village, golf club, technology hub amongst others. We are strongly convinced that Valor City will put Ogbomoso on a world map of a great tourist destination,” he added.

I have a dream of having a human development city where I can teach and show people especially the youths to dare the impossible and raise their games. I am an example of that someone, who despite confronting humiliating chains of poverty, failures, deprivations and inabilities. I have by the grace of God made great feat with Hastom Farms Limited, it is time to give back to the society and from Ogbomoso in Oyo State, the world will see a model that will be replicated globally.

The Ogbomoso born entrepreneur, when asked how he would ensure valor city can compete with world standard he said ‘we are not in competition with anyone but to compliment every business, we will partner with foreign institutions, for instance, we will affiliate with foreign universities across the world, we have 400 acres earmarked for education and this will be practical based within the city. My understanding is wherever people get value, they will always go. Our master plan is ready and we are set to sell some parts of the residential plots to the people who can see this great future with us,” Thomas opined.

Speaking further, the young entrepreneur said investors could now grab the opportunity to be part of Valor City dream as his company has started rolling out sales of residential plots in the smart city at very affordable rates before the prices go up in few months.

At the moment, prospective investors who want to live in a serene environment and a modern city that will be first of its kind not only in Ogbomoso, Oyo state but in Nigeria and Africa should not hesitate to grab this opportunity now, in few months when we begin to construct road networks for the city, I am afraid the price might have been reviewed upward, he said.

Olushola Debo Thomas is the CEO of Hastom Farms Limited, located in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, his life is an epic story of how a man can rise from the rubble of harsh circumstances and turn out a sublime and inspiring life from it.
