Kayode Awojobi, a broadcast journalist at OOU92.1FM during the just concluded Primus Media Awards, 2023 won the Listener’s Choice Male category, Ogun State.
Listeners Choice Male -Ogun state is for the most popular young male presenter on the radio space of Ogun state.
This category is solely determined by popularity, based on the number of votes cast. Voting was FREE to ensure a deserving winner is chosen and Kayode won the category with 30.2% with his closest rival having 24.5%.
In this same award, Kayode was nominated for best Yoruba newscaster and Most Eloquent Presenter category. Primus Media Awards focused on broadcasters between the ages of 21-30 in the south west part of Nigeria.
With his career in broadcasting getting closer to a decade, Kayode also draws up experience spanning, journalism, writing, media relations, advertising. Kayode has honed his skills as a Duty Continuity Announcer, Newscaster, Media Associate, Associate Editor, News Editor and On Air Personality.
He is one of the contributors to 3rd Chinua Achebe Poetry and Essay Anthology published in 2019 and Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi Poetry and Essay Anthology published in 2020. Kayode holds a Bachelor Degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. He is a writer, bilingual poet, public speaker, and essayist. He has published several public affairs articles online and in major national dailies in Nigeria since 2015.
He has worked with reputable media organizations, such as Radio Nigeria, which is the largest radio network in Africa.
