With more than two decades of experience in public relations and corporate communications, Adetola Vanessa Uansohia has built a career at the intersection of operational excellence, corporate reputation and strategic stakeholder engagement. As Head of Corporate Communications at Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc, she brings together industry knowledge, strategic storytelling and reputation management to strengthen corporate visibility, build stakeholder confidence and communicate the company’s evolving story.

Her professional journey is rooted in more than eight years of hands-on aviation operations experience. She began her career as a check-in agent, progressed to team lead and earned SITA Nigeria’s Best Passenger Handling Officer award twice at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. These formative years gave her a practical understanding of Passenger Service, airport coordination and the operational standards that shape an organization’s reputation.

SAHCO operates across 23 states in Nigeria, giving the company a broad national footprint and a complex network of locations, teams and stakeholders. In her role, Uansohia coordinates Corporate Communications across these stations, ensuring consistency in messaging, strengthening internal alignment and supporting the company’s visibility across its diverse operational locations.

Her operational background continues to influence her communications approach. Having worked directly with passengers and airport teams, she understands how employees, service delivery and organisational decisions affect public perception. This perspective enables her to translate complex aviation developments into clear, credible messages for employees, customers, regulators, partners, the media and the wider public.

Uansohia’s professional achievements include a reported 40 per cent improvement in positive media visibility within two years and more than 100 media engagements annually as an official company spokesperson. She has also supported communications around major corporate initiatives, including SAHCO’s initial public offering, demonstrating her ability to communicate significant business developments with accuracy, strategic focus and relevance.

Her professional growth has been supported by continuous academic and executive education. She is an alumna of the University of Ado-Ekiti and holds a Master’s degree in Public Personnel Management from the National Open University of Nigeria and a Master’s degree in Corporate Communications from Rome Business School. She has also attended courses at Lagos Business School, further strengthening her knowledge of leadership, management and strategic communication.

Uansohia is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and Development (CIPDM), and an Associate of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON). Her professional interests span crisis communication, digital communications strategy, employee engagement, media relations, brand management and corporate reputation. She believes that trust is built through consistent communication, responsible organisational conduct and meaningful stakeholder relationships.

From Passenger Handling to Corporate Communications leadership, Uansohia’s journey reflects progression, adaptability and purpose. She brings together frontline service experience, operational insight, academic development and strategic communication expertise to strengthen SAHCO Plc’s corporate reputation. Her coordination of communications across the company’s stations in 23 states further demonstrates her ability to manage a broad operational network while maintaining clarity, consistency and alignment.

Her career demonstrates that effective communication is most powerful when grounded in a clear understanding of what an organisation does, the people it serves and the diverse locations in which it operates.
