The Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) has once again extended its hand of fellowship and generosity to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). This time, the non-governmental group donated ten brand new neonatal incubators to the Pediatrics Department of the hospital.

Speaking on behalf of the members of the organization, Dr. Richardson Ajayi, a member of the Lagos chapter who is also the Chairman of the LASUTH board, said the donation stemmed from the activities of the YPO during the heat of the COVID -19 pandemic here in Nigeria. He said the entrepreneur’s club set up a clinic to cater for the COVID affected and it successfully cared for 340 people; after 3 months, the clinic disbanded and all equipment were dispatched to different Government hospitals and the isolation centers in the State.

While noting that this was the largest donation of incubators so far, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, the Chief Medical Director of LASUTH on behalf of the Pediatrics Department, and Management staff of the hospital thanked the YPO for endearing itself to the needs inherent in the hospital and being the hope for babies who will need the incubators he believes, it is certainly a rewarding initiative. He also praised the passion of Dr. Ajayi, “as he always seeks for the progress of the hospital and does all to demonstrate this.”

Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa, Director Clinical Services and Training; Dr. Omolara Kehinde, Head of Pediatrics Unit; Mr. Tayo Lawal, Director Finance & Accounts, Mr. Kehinde Gbajumo, Director Hospital Administration & Human Resources; Mrs. Yejide Kolawole, Director, Legal Services; and Mr. Ola Sadiq, HOD Engineering Unit of the hospital were all present at the donation.
