Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has reassured passengers and the travelling public of its unwavering commitment to safety following a temporary disruption to its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick service.
The airline disclosed that after passenger boarding had been completed for the flight, a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault that required immediate attention. In line with established global aviation safety standards and the airline’s strict operational procedures, the aircraft was immediately withdrawn from service and passengers safely disembarked.
Air Peace stated that while the development may have caused inconvenience to affected passengers, safety remains the airline’s highest priority, and all necessary preventive measures were taken to ensure the well-being of passengers and crew members.
According to the airline, all affected passengers were promptly informed of the situation and provided with support services, including hotel accommodation and other necessary assistance to ensure their comfort during the delay.
To minimise disruption to travel plans, the airline confirmed that a replacement aircraft from London would be deployed, with passengers scheduled to depart in the morning.
