The local bourse sustained its upward march as the week progressed, with the benchmark All-Share Index climbing 47 basis points to settle at 132,451.73 points. Today’s performance reinforces the market’s strong bullish tone and deepening investor appetite for equities.

With DANGSUGAR, WAPCO, ACCESSCORP, OANDO, UBA, and

FIDELITYBK acting as main drivers, the market saw a rise today, supported by 30 other equities that also advanced.

Investor wealth increased by ₦395.35million as market

capitalization rose by 0.47% to ₦83.79 trillion. This brings the Year-toDate (YTD) return to 28.69%.

The market closed on a broadly positive note, with four out of five sectors posting gains. The Industrial Goods sector led the pack, rising by 2.87% on the back of strong interest in WAPCO,

BUACEMENT, and JBERGER. The Consumer Goods (+0.50%), Insurance (+0.25%), and Banking (+0.12%) sectors also recorded modest gains, driven by upward movements in DANGSUGAR,

CADBURY, INTBREW, SOVERNINS, AIICO, CORNERST, and

ACCESSCORP. Meanwhile, the Oil & Gas sector declined by 1.04%, weighed down by profit-taking activities in ARADEL.

MARKET ACTIVITY: Trading activity improved today, as the total volume and value of transactions rose by 9.29% and 24.24% respectively, reaching 771.65 million units and ₦26.79 billion.

MARKET BREADTH: The market breadth, which measures investor sentiment through the Gainers/Losers ratio decreased to 1.06x from 0.69x as 36 stocks appreciated, 34 stocks depreciated and 59 stocks closed flat.

at ₦979.35 billion, a decrease from yesterday’s ₦1.04 trillion.

FIXED INCOME MARKET: Yields in the Treasury Bills (17.63%) and Bonds (16.25%) markets declined today, indicating a bullish close across both segments.

CURRENCY MARKET: The Naira depreciated  by 0.18% to  ₦1,535.24
