Ex-APRA President, John Allottey Pappoe dead

The Former President, Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana and one time President of African Public Relations Association (APRA). Mr Allottey-Pappoe passed on Monday October 28, 2019 in his home country Ghana.

According to the President, Mr Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, said, “Mr John Allotey-Pappoe, aged 72 was very instrumental in the revival of APRA in 2002 after the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) meeting in Egypt. He took over as APRA President in 2003 up until 2007, hosted APRA Conference in Ghana, 2003 and was influential in the reformation of FAPRA to APRA in 2008. We cannot tell the story of APRA without the mention of the name John Allotey-Pappoe.”

APRA will surely miss him but will never forget his great contributions to the development of the association.

Similarly, In a statement by the Secretary General of APRA, Jane Gitau, reads, “The entire council and members of APRA share their condolences and pray that the Lord will grant the Allotey-Pappoe family the fortitude to bear this huge loss in the Public Relations industry and the society at large. He will be dearly missed by us but his legacy lives on forever in our hearts.”

APRA Secretariat promise to keep everyone updated on the funeral arrangements as the Executive Council of APRA are in touch with the family.
