IFMA Nigeria set to host Maiden Advocacy Day This December

The International Facility Management Association, Nigeria Chapter, is set to host the Maiden edition of her Advocacy Day on the 13th of December 2019 at the Radisson Blu Anchorage hotel In Victoria Island, Lagos. This was unveiled by the Acting President, Mr. Segun Adebayo.

This theme for the event is- “Facility Management: a panacea for the sustainable nation building.” It is expected that  the discussion will center on Facility Management, Strategic Advocacy, the importance of innovation and professionalism and how it affects nation building.

The  Advocacy series has been instituted to be a veritable platform to attract most of the critical stakeholders and players in the facility management industry. The event will identify one small idea that can change the world.

Speaking on the upcoming event, Mr Adebayo said, the Association has discovered that there is a need to educate Nigerian on the need to effectively manage built spaces and this advocacy day will be one of the annual projects of the Association. The event is geared towards achieving a sustainable facility management in Nigeria through strategic advocacy and periodic enlightenment.

According to him, “It is expected that by expanding the scope to explore the global and national implications of facility Management focused on Nigeria Nd the Continent. speakers would assess where Nigeria is in Facility Management and how to position the profession for the future.”

The Honorable Minister of Works and Housing; Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN  and the

Deputy Governor, State of Osun, His Excellency, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi are the Special Guests of Honour while  the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Engr Simbi Wabote is the Keynote Speaker.

Participants expected at the event are CEOs, Business Leads, Functional Directors and Senior Managers whose functions require the making and implementation of facility management in development decisions that influence national growth and profitability in the immediate and long term.

It is expected that during the event people will have the opportunity to develop contacts and exchange information with other facility management professionals locally and internationally.
