As the festive season winds down, constituents of the Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, and Iwajowa Federal Constituency are calling on their representative, Hon. Najimdeen Oyeshina Oyedeji, to intensify efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy as he enters the second half of his four-year tenure in the House of Representatives.
Speaking on the matter, Mustapha Olalekan noted: “The Okeho Lokan Agenda came with great promises, but the community is still awaiting significant improvements. We see what other representatives are doing in their constituencies, and we expect similar advancements here.”
A key demand articulated by the constituents is focused on the newly approved University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho, where constituents urge Hon. Oyedeji to leverage his connections with prominent think-tanks, fellow lawmakers, and his high profile within Oyo State to raise a minimum of ₦500 million specifically for the University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho to support its smooth take-off and growth. Drawing comparisons to Federal Polytechnic Ayede, which benefited from strategic donations, stakeholders facilitated by the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Chief Sunday Dare and his associates. We believe that Hon. Oyedeji’s strong network should facilitate the university’s development.
Additionally, Aderibigbe Adedayo emphasized the need for infrastructural investment by Oyo State, stating: “As a former Commissioner and close ally of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, it is time to channel resources into Okeho’s transformation. Increased investment in infrastructure will elevate the town’s profile and boost internally generated revenue (IGR).”
A critical plea also emerged concerning infrastructure due to the topography of the terrain, “As the Deputy Chairman of the Ecological Committee in the House of Representatives, the continuous neglect of the Okeho–Iganna axis. We need your intervention to address the areas severely damaged by erosion,” another community member stated.
The constituents collectively demand visible capital projects across the constituency, seeking to see concrete footprints of progress in terms of roads built, schools rehabilitated, and significant youth empowerment and employment initiatives.
From what was gathered, the constituents await renewed commitment from Hon. Oyedeji to deliver on his mandate that reflects the promises made and the opportunities at hand, with renewed vigour and concrete projects that will uplift the lives and foster the development of the entire Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, and Iwajowa Federal Constituency.
