The Ogun State Council of Baales and a network of retirees from the 20 local government areas have endorsed the governorship aspiration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi. Â

Speaking on behalf of the over 3000 traditional chiefs, the President of the Ogun State Council of Baales, Chief Tunji Falola, emphasised that the relationship between Senator Adeola and the traditional rulers has been beneficial to communities across the state over the past four years. He said the Baales unanimously endorsed the APC candidate based on his contributions to community development and grassroots empowerment, as well as his commitment to inclusive governance.
Similarly, the President of Ogun State Retirees Network, Pastor (Mrs.) Mary Adeosun, also declared support for Senator Adeola Yayi, describing the decision as one reached independently by the retirees, reflecting their confidence in his ability to deliver democratic dividends across the state. The retirees, drawn from different local governments, state and federal public service, expressed their belief in Senator Adeola’s capacity to provide purposeful leadership and build upon the developmental strides recorded in the state by previous administrations.
In his response, Senator Adeola (Yayi) expressed profound appreciation to both groups, describing their support as a humbling vote of confidence.
“I am deeply honoured by the overwhelming support and endorsement from the Ogun State Council of Baales and our respected fathers and mothers who have served the state and nation for 35 years or have attained the age of 60. Their confidence in our vision strengthens our resolve to continue engaging every segment of our state as we work together to build a more prosperous, inclusive, and united Ogun State,” he said.
Describing Baales as the closest traditional authorities to the people, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations said they deserve greater recognition and institutional support. He also pledged to donate a bus to the Council and construct a befitting secretariat for the association. He assured the traditional community leaders that, if elected governor in 2027, his administration would introduce a Universal Basic Salary Structure for Baales across Ogun State to strengthen grassroots governance and improve their welfare.
Senator Adeola Yayi also assured the retirees of timely payment of their pension if elected governor of Ogun State in 2027.
