In a bid to understudy the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, a team from Borno State Government paid a working visit to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) to understudy its activities, work ethics, human resources and strength; architectural layout and modus operandi for a purpose of plans to build a State Teaching Hospital in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The team leader, Professor Ahmed Ahidjo, a Professor of Radiology and Interventional Radiology, University of Maiduguri noted that the visit was hinged on the important things needed to be known in establishing a State Hospital viz; the organogram, human resource development, creation of departments and different services provided by the hospital.
The Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo warmly welcomed the team in the presence of the LASUTH management team. He proceeded to furnish the visiting team with a brief presentation on the history, organogram, structure, systems and modus operandi of the hospital. Questions which bothered on funding processes, bureaucracy hurdles and other areas of concern were raised and discussed efficiently.
The CMD was also able to highlight some peculiar challenges the hospital face from time to time and how the management of the hospital and the Lagos State Government had been able to manage such to ensure that quality service is always delivered to the populace despite the odds.
Prof. Fabamwo encouraged the Borno State Government to forge ahead with plans and wished the team success in its endeavors and the team was led on a site tour by the Director Clinical Services & Training, Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa, as part of its visit.
Professor Ahmed Ahidjo, on behalf of the team appreciated the LASUTH management for the reception, the presentation and the extensive tour.
