COVID-19: Domestic flights to commence 21st of June, 2020

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has made it known that following the announcement by the Presidential Task Force ok Covid19 on the easing and commencement of the second phase of the pandemic lockdown, the gradual commencement of domestic flight operation will commence on 21st June, 2020.

As stated in a communique signed by Captain Musa S Nuhu the Director General of NCAA, the commencement of the flight operation will commence with airports such as; Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja; Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos; Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano; Omagwa International Airport, Port Harcourt and Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri while other airports outside those listed will be added to the network when due as they will continue to comply with the existing Covid19 protocols for approval.

The communique further added that, the close of Nigerian airports to international flight will continue until a date of resumption is announced while emergency and essentials flight are exempted from the restriction.

Meanwhile, the closure of Nigerian airports to domestic flights has been extended to 20th June, 2020.
