As part of the activities to mark his one year in office, Engineer Seyi Makinde has today commissioned No 72, Mopol Squadron in Ago-Are, Atisbo Local Government area of Oyo state.
The commissioning which was done in the presence of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, A. M Ali and other notable personalities present such as the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Engr Rauf Olaniyan and traditional rulers such as, Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi Oyeniyi; Aare of Ofiki, Alayeluwa, Oba Adeoye Gbenga Adigun Oyinlola II, JP and Aare of Ago-Are Oba Abodunrin Oyetunji Kofoworola Ph.D, fcai and other notable royal fathers were present.
The project is aimed at providing adequate security for the people of Ago-Are and Oke-Ogun at large. Speaking at the occasion, the Commander of the Ago-Are Squadron, Akinade Adejobi pledged the pursuance of the mandate to rid Oke-Ogun zone of crime and criminality with zeal, vitality, passion and vigour.
Some other projects that are awaiting commissioning by the governor includes; new classroom blocks at Anwar-Ul-Islam, Basic School, Ipapo; Handing over of Asphalt and Quarry plants in Ijaiye among others. The commission of the Mobile Squadron Unit and Donation of Vehicles was appreciated by the constituents of Oyo North Senatorial District.
