These days are filled with strange and sad occurrences. In less than 45 days, a number of our political allies and  companions have departed this world.

It’s disheartening that we lost another  gem, our dearest leader, His Excellency, Senator Isiaka Abiola Akanji Ajimobi, the Immediate Past Governor of Oyo State.

His death came as a rude shock and it’s very devastating to me. Senator Abiola Ajimobi was the only ally, in the West, who supported our cause and stood by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He was steadfast and unflinching in his commitment to the core Yoruba values and the defence of our leadership.

This loyalty cost him a lot, electorally and personally. The immediate conspiracy against him was quite enormous, unsparing and unrelenting. Of course! He silently weathered the storm and survived the intrigue with a rare comportment and maturity.

Death is inevitable, a necessary end for mortals. His passage is depressive but we are consoled by the fact that dearest leader was exemplary in many ways.

He was accommodating, loyalty, generosity, resilient and loving. He was full of courage and he served as the Governor of Oyo State for Eight years, he towered shoulder-high above most.

He was born great into an illustrious and famous family, but he earned his greatness through hard work, personal sacrifice, grim determination and the force of unconquerable human spirit. Everything he touched became gold, however,  most times, he was subjected to a lot of criticism.

A complete OMOLUABI; an epitome of virtue and character. His death is a loss to all nationalists, federalists, genuine democrats and progressives.

Certainly, Egbon Abiola Ajimobi was a colossus! He was an upright and great man. My heart goes out to his wife; Florence Ajimobi, the children and associates.

I must remind her of what Allah SWT says in the Holy Quran, Suratul Ar Rahman; Quran 55: 26 – 27; “everyone that is on the earth will perish and pass away: and everlasting, to remain forever is the face and supreme divinity of your Lord, majestic and glorious”.

Please take solace in the enduring legacy of good and impactful governance; beautiful relationships he cultivated while on this side of the divide.

May he find favour and be granted Al-Jannah Firdaus. Aamen!
